Muscle Balancing is a technique which is based on the therapy designed by John Thie D.C., called Touch for Health. Each muscle group is tested separately through an isolated pose. This particular therapy can be used many different ways. When we find a weak group we can strengthen it two different ways. 1) Nutritional supplementation 2) Muscle balancing. Using these two together is always the best. But if one is not available either one will do.
Now of course the supplement will correct the cause of the imbalance, but these tools are not always available. So, after three sessions of muscle balancing without supplements, these imbalances will be corrected muscularly but not internally. So, after a prolonged period of time (3 months), these imbalances will return if left untreated. You can use this therapy to discover which organs are malfunctioning and causing a weakness in a certain muscle group. You can also use this technique to increase muscle strength, flexibility, and reduce the risk of injury.
This therapy increases the amount of blood flow to muscle and other soft tissues, which in turn brings fresh nourishment to these tissues and also carries out any toxins that may have been accumulating. Over time, this can also help to hold chiropractic adjustments better and longer. This therapy is very similar to massage but is performed differently in that the rubbing of the skin is done only in one direction and the person is fully clothed. Since all major muscle groups connect to bone, we can use muscle balancing to help hold in chiropractic adjustments. Of course the adrenal glands are the main things to support in order to hold in adjustments, but if the adrenal glands get support from the muscles attached to the bones that were adjusted, then the job is easier for the entire body. Using muscle balancing, we can relax the entire body, which will help to improve a persons state of mind. Help them to have more clarity of thought, and help them to stat a healthy, slow detoxification.
Kinesio-Tape is a tape constructed of a flexible cloth material that is worn for 3-5 days. This tape is used mainly by physical Therapists to draw the skin up and way from muscle tissue and nerves, helping to increase blood flow to a specific area. The blue tape is waterproof and is worn constantly. The tape is applied from insertion to origin and over bones on major muscle groups. This is used for the following conditions: torn muscles, sore muscles, nerve pain, frozen shoulder, torn ligaments, ruptured disks, sprained wrists, ankles and can be used for carple tunnel, tennis elbow, shin splints. If a person comes in with multiple injuries and I need to send them out for x-rays or to see a chiropractor, I can at the very least place a few strips of tape on them and know that they will feel better and heal faster. This tape has become a great way for me to do a lot for my clients in a minimal amount of time. There is only one thing that you must watch out for, and that is an allergy to adhesives. The adhesive used on this tape is not usually a problem, but you always need to be cautious. You can get this tape from me at Alternative Wellness Center. This tape is $20.00 per roll, but since you stretch the tape when you apply it, the roll actually lasts for quite a while. The rolls are around 10 feet long and 2 inches wide. They come in tan, blue, and red. The blue is the only one that is waterproof, so that’s the one I use.
